About Me
I am multifaceted designer and an artist at heart. I am a proud country girl who hails from the island of Jamaica and found her place in the great city of New York!
For me, true self actualization comes from finding ways to use my talents to serve my greater community. I love being challenged and I strongly believe that learning is a life long experience.
My Story
My love for the arts has been constant throughout my life; from a child growing up in Jamaica to an adult living in a city oozing with arts and culture. I have been doodling and sketching for as long as I can remember. The pages of my mother's book collection can attest to it. I believe art and design can truly transform the way in which people experience even the smallest of things.
I am a feen for knowledge and I find myself constantly researching things just to discover their inner workings. My love for art and design and my drive to discover has melded into something beautiful in my journey as a UX Designer.
My professional skills
Lead & Strategy
I lead by example and with empathy. I successfully led the Real Estate South East Region production department for three years as a production manager and was the lead Graphic designer for ABC Fine Wine and Spirits.
Team Work
Since the onset of my career, I have worked with in-house design and production teams. Recognized as the employee who supports and collaborates with her team to deliver the best outcome.
Innovative
I strive to improve content and processes. I introduced new and recognized marketing materials as a lead graphic designer. As a production manager, I implemented a workflow that reduced weekly production by 4 hours.
Goal Oriented
I am intrinsically motivated and I am always finding ways to improve my skills and grow holistically. In life there will be setbacks but I learn to reset, set new goals, dig deep, and keep moving forward.
Relevant experience
I have been a designer since 2001 working in the publishing, retail, software, education and nonprofit industries. My diverse background is a testament to my ability to adapt and evolve.
